India Storm Into Super Six With 83 Run Win Over Scotland in Women’s U 19 World Cup

 U19 Women’s World Cup: World Cup: Hat-trick of victory in the World Cup, Indian girls beat the Scots in Super Six.

Third win in a row.  India's consecutive win in U-19 Women's World Cup.  Shefali Verma, Richa Ghosra made it to the Super Six after defeating Scotland on Wednesday.

Benoni: The Indian team made a hat-trick of victories in the U19 Women's World Cup.  The 20th match of the tournament was against Shefali Verma's team against Scotland Women U19 (India vs Scotland).  Batting first, India scored 149 runs for 4 wickets.  Shweta Shehrawat, who started the innings in the first two matches, did not open on this day.  G Trisha came to open with captain Shefali.  Later India bowled out Scotland for just 66 runs and won the match by 83 runs.  With this win, Team India reached Super Six.  Match details in this Next World Cup report.

India lost star opener and captain Shefali Verma (1) wicket in the second over of the match.  But G Trisha's half-century of 57 off 51 balls and Shweta Shehrawat's unbeaten 31 off 10 balls helped India reach 149 for four.  India's score after six overs was just 35 for the loss of two wickets.  Richa Ghosh played an innings of 33 runs off 35 balls.  Shweta batted at number six to take the team's score to 149 runs.  Then the spin trio of Mannat Kashyap, Archana Devi Singh and Sonam Yadav ended the innings of Scotland in the 14th over.  Left-arm spinner Mannat took four wickets for 12 runs in four overs and offspinner Archana Devi took three wickets for 14 runs.

India bowled out the Scots for 66 in 13.1 overs and took a hat-trick of victories to take them to the Super Six.  Fifteen-year-old Sonam took a wicket with 2 runs in 1.1 overs.  India are currently at the top of Group D with six points.  Earlier, India had beaten hosts South Africa and UAE.
